Policy Council
Our Advisory Council
The Advisory Council is called to support LOPPW and ELCA churches in Wisconsin in their mission to make Christ known as they live out the confessional and scriptural call to advocacy. To accomplish this objective the Council is asked to:
- Serve as a liaison between LOPPW and the synods
- Interpret the mission of LOPPW, working with the director to set advocacy priorities, goals and objectives
- Provide budget guidance and advocate for funding to support the ministry
- Provide support, advice and counsel to the director
Advisory Council Members represent all six synods that cover Wisconsin. Each term is for three years. Council members may serve one term or two terms consecutively. The advisory council members are appointed by their synods and represent the bishops and congregations to work with the director to determine annual or biannual priorities and the budget and to support and advise the director.
