The Rev. Elizabeth A. Eaton, presiding bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, asked the U.S. Senate in an April 8 letter to consider legislation that would raise the federal minimum wage to $10.10 an hour as part of an overall strategy to reduce poverty in the United States.
