Hunger & FoodShare
The federal reconciliation bill (One Big Beautiful Bill Act) made cuts and changes to the SNAP program.
In Wisconsin, this means there is reduced funding for the FoodShare program, while there are also massive program changes. This puts people at risk of losing access to needed food assistance if the state doesn’t act quickly.
Clean Water
An estimated 1 in 3 Wisconsin families get their drinking water from private wells, but many do not know about threats to contamination of their water. A new bill has been introduced that would help inform local health officials about water contamination.
