Farm Bill: Contact Your Senators About Hunger & Agriculture

Now is a critical time to contact your U.S. Senators about the Farm Bill and urge them to incorporate important provisions to address hunger and promote sustainable livelihoods for farmers.

Call Your Senators Now:

Sen. Baldwin – 202-224-5653
Sen. Johnson – 202-224-5323

Sample call script:

“Hi, my name is (your name). I’m a constituent living in (city/town, zip). I’m calling to urge the Senator to pass a comprehensive Farm Bill that includes provisions to boost rural communities and support hungry families.

  • I’m deeply concerned about cuts to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) enacted last year. Please reverse those cuts and begin a pathway for Puerto Rico to receive full SNAP benefits.
  • Please support soil health and agroforestry investments through EQIP and CSP, to give farmers tools to build sustainable livelihoods amid rising production costs and volatile markets.

[Optional: Share a personal story about the importance of farming and/or food assistance.] Thank you.”
