The Lutheran Office for Public Policy in Wisconsin (LOPPW) engages in advocacy for and supports policies that promote peace, justice, and care for creation. While recognizing the diversity of opinions among Lutherans, our positions are grounded in Lutheran theology, ELCA social statements, research, and careful discernment.

The ELCA is a church that believes God is calling us into the world — together. Through social statements and messages that serve as teaching and policy documents, the ELCA provides broad frameworks to assist us in thinking about and discussing social issues in the context of faith and life.
